NightLase® Snoring And Sleep Improvement

A Non-Surgical Option to Reduce Snoring

NightLase is a gentle laser treatment designed to reduce snoring and support better sleep quality without surgery, anesthesia, or downtime. At The Wagner Centre, we offer NightLase using the Fotona system for patients looking for a non-surgical option for snoring and sleep improvement.

A Better Way To Address Snoring

NightLase is a non-surgical laser treatment that targets soft tissue vibration associated with snoring. Using the Fotona Er:YAG laser in specialized SMOOTH® mode, the treatment gently heats and tightens the soft palate and surrounding airway tissues to support improved airflow during sleep.

What NightLase Can Help Improve

NightLase is designed for patients with habitual snoring or mild sleep-related breathing concerns associated with soft tissue vibration in the airway.

Treatment may help improve:

  • Snoring frequency
  • Snoring intensity
  • Sleep quality
  • Airflow during sleep
  • Mild sleep-related breathing concerns in selected patients

NightLase is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Patients with loud snoring, gasping, daytime fatigue, or witnessed breathing pauses may require a sleep study or additional medical evaluation before treatment.

Benefits Of NightLase

NightLase offers a gentle, non-surgical approach for patients looking to reduce snoring and improve sleep quality.

Benefits include:

  • Reduced snoring frequency and intensity
  • Improved sleep quality and airway function
  • No anesthesia or recovery period
  • Safe and comfortable treatment for sensitive tissues
  • Minimally invasive treatment
  • Short treatment sessions

NightLase may be a good option for patients with habitual snoring or mild sleep-related breathing concerns who want an alternative to CPAP or oral appliances. In some cases, patients can discontinue using the CPAP machine, but only on the advice of their doctor.

What To Expect During Treatment

Treatment begins with an evaluation of your snoring symptoms, airway concerns, and sleep history to determine whether the procedure is appropriate for your needs.

If recommended, the Fotona Er:YAG laser is used inside the mouth to gently heat the soft palate and surrounding airway tissues. Treatment typically involves a series of short appointments lasting about 30 minutes each.

Most patients describe the procedure as comfortable, with a warming sensation during treatment. There is no recovery period, and patients can typically return to normal activities immediately after their visit.

Some patients notice improvement after the first session, with continued results developing over the following weeks as collagen remodeling occurs in the treated tissues.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

Treatment typically involves 3–5 sessions spaced several weeks apart, although your exact plan may vary based on your airway anatomy, symptoms, and treatment response. Maintenance visits may be recommended if snoring gradually returns over time.

Results may last up to a year or longer for some patients, and maintenance treatments can be repeated if symptoms gradually return.

Is NightLase Right For You?

NightLase may be a good fit if you snore regularly and want a non-surgical treatment option.

You may be a candidate if you:

  • Have habitual snoring
  • Want to reduce snoring without surgery
  • Prefer not to wear a nightly oral appliance
  • Have difficulty tolerating CPAP for mild sleep concerns
  • Want treatment with little to no downtime
  • Have mild sleep apnea or airway concerns after proper evaluation

NightLase is not right for every sleep concern. Loud snoring, gasping, choking, morning headaches, daytime sleepiness, or witnessed breathing pauses may point to obstructive sleep apnea and should be evaluated carefully.
